Thought I should check this list. Hmmm, there were those that we weren't able to do for a lot of reasons..

3) photo ops in tanjung aru beach resort. DONE

5) go to mount kinabalu. DONE
6) buy chocolates oh chocolates for pasalubong. (HUHU...WE weren't able to buy chocolates ...)

9) tour their newspaper's office and printing press courtesy of Datin. (WE had no tie for this.)

10) get a visit malaysia sticker. (No time also)

11) go to klias river. (Really no time...)

we arrived home last january 2. everything went back to "normal" (commuting, eating our food (yeah!), inhaling polluted air, sleeping in my good old bed, and doing my thingie in my own bathroom! oops, sorry for spoiling your appetite...)

here are some pictures:

2) eat my another favorite nasi ayam. DONE
3) photo ops in tanjung aru beach resort.
4) practise driving using the kenari. DONE
5) go to mount kinabalu.
6) buy chocolates oh chocolates for pasalubong.
7) karaoke  with mama and the whole family. DONE
8) buy their local newspaper. DONE
9) tour their newspaper's office and printing press courtesy of Datin.

oh so LOADe[a]d
am now on my second week of classes this semester.. i must admit that being loaded in my last year in college was the last thing on my mind three years ago..am now reaping the fruits of my labor...for starters, i have to deal with a 21-unit academic life, plus an organization to head, plus a part-time job, plus responsibilities at home, plus plus plus plus..well, i wish i could minus, times, divide, whatever mathematical process could be done just so i could make sure all will go well this time..but just like what mark u has been telling me for the nth time, i have to learn to let go..hmmm..let go..

translate! breathe..

relax when it's time to...

from what i saw in NGC's feature titled "stressed" this afternoon, people, who work beyond duty hours, say night time or weekends, who keep on thinking about work and all that jazz, are prone to having heart problems, stroke, and other major diseases that in reality may be prevented. then, i should consider de-stressing myself...hahahah! yoga! or better yet, i should try the remedy the asian therapists are recommending: repeat words in your mind, focus on them while ridding your mind of any thoughts....

ok then, i'll start now..what words should i repeat in my mind? i know! l-e-t-g-o.

let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...let go...

miss-communicate-shown
most people believe, even some theories show, that miscommunication does not only happen in non-verbal but also in verbal communication..but what if you did not utter a single word directly to a person nor performed any hand signal or gesture? what if you sent a message, and as is the nature of SMS, that was just misunderstood? then that's problematic..tsktsktsk..what if you just can't:

    explain yourself...

sad.

sad talaga..peace na...

technology of sort
once again technology failed me! or, did it?

well, i,ve been texting and emailing people these past few days hoping they'd reply in whatever way possible. this important business i've been wanting to complete is not about me, but about us. so why in the world do these people seem a universe away? Was it really technology that failed in allowing me to connect with these people or was it just that they intentionally refused technology's call? man, i don't know. i just wish that if ever they chanced into reading this blog they'd not turn their backs and move away...hopefully this entry would make them respond. responding to one's call is the most appropriate thing to do anyway.

so umm...anybody there?

blast those beaches! here's hot summer fun
shocks..this is my very first entry, and yes, i am aware that this account has been here for four months already..tsktsktsk..i really have problems with journals, sad..anyway, i spent my summer "vacation" in a six-storey building in salcedo village reading newspapers, watching news programs, and viewing blogs  and websites everyday..i worked at the center for media freedom and responsibility from april 10 to may 19, a full 39 days of hard work, diarrhea, flu, and fun, fun, fun! yep, it was fun, despite other people thinking it was a tedious internship program that we got into..there were 24 of us, majority were from up..it was nice meeting new friends like ross, my, clarence, joyce, and kin from st. scho (not sure of the spelling..). also JC and noel (whose name i'd always get wrong, sorry)...

i worked in the politics/public policy/controversy/miscellaneous beat..the task was daunting at first, but i managed to work and follow the system as days progressed..

i learned a lot from this internship program, allow me to enumerate..
1. never ever get your facts wrong. always check your spelling, your punctuation marks, etc before passing your articles to your supervisors..it's not that they will yell at you for getting those simple things wrong. it's just that it will make you feel really bad because those little things may ruin your copy, may cause you your precious job, or worse, may get you jeers in the PJR Reports Monitor section, you know what i mean...(for me, getting jeers is worse than being reprimanded by my supervisor, coz that would mean i really sucked bigtime!)

2. always know when to play around and  pull those corny jokes. sometimes, those corny jokes lead to bigger trouble cause others may hear you and challenge you into a contest..too bad for not having that stock of jokes all the time.

3. always have that precious lip balm in you pocket. it helps to beat the cracks.

4. never take the mrt during rush hours. prepare yourself for a wrestling match when you ride the MRT with big bags and all...huhu, good thing i trained with ma'am san juan from the Philippine judo team..

5. always have that extra energy to work overtime. huhu, remove "dinner" from your list if you have limited budget...

6. be friends with your officemates. it's not bad to give compliments every time you want to..masaya magbigay ng compliment sa iba, lalo na kung dapat naman sila bigyan ng compliments, diba?

7. and last but not the least, never eat camote sticks from the jolly jeeps..they'll either give you stomach spasms or endless dates with the bathroom..yeah, you guessed that right!

i enjoy being with people who have passion for inspiring change to those who have seemingly lost it..sir brye is a special mention..he is laudable for his dedication to his work (five years na sya sa CMFR)..to ma'am mdj, ma'am khan, ma'am chit, ma'am venus, sir nathan, sir don, ma'am carol, ate sheila, kuya amiel, thank you po. cheers to the PJR Reports staff! you're the best...

more to share next time...cgeya!
